Mom's Peanut Butter Cookies
I loved my mom's peanut butter cookies - and others never taste quite right. I try not to complain, but truthfully, I've been known to avoid the efforts of others due to, well, let's face it - plain ole snobbishness. I confess.
So, here's the recipe.
Mom's Peanut Butter Cookies
Cream together:
1/4 C Shortening
1/4 C butter
1/2 C peanut butter (I like chunky for these)
1/2 C granulated sugar
1/2 C packed brown sugar
1 egg
dry ingredients:
1-1/4 C all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Mix dry ingredients with creamed. Chill dough. Roll into balls and press criss-cross pattern into them with a fork. Bake for 10-12 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
Mmmmmm.

Yum. So, if mine don't turn out just right, I can blame it on my fork, yes?
